Silica-silica high OH- step-index fibers consist of a pure silica core with a silica cladding for high damage threshold and high performance optical properties. They have a high OH- concentration for efficient power transmission from UV through visible wavelengths.

 High OH-fibers are coated with a patented *HCS hard polymer for high tensile strength (greater than 700 kpsi) and fatigue resistance, combined with the high power transmission capability of large-core silica fiber.
